Meeting with the NDSU English students

1. I found a lot of interesting facts during my visit. The most interesting fact I learned is that in college, the content is more important than the grammar, mechanics, or spelling.

2. I always thought that English teachers are all serious and strict, however, today I learned that English teachers are just like us, and some are really nice. In the future, I believe that English teacher will make use of the modern-day technology to aid their teachings.

3. What are the possible jobs one can apply for after finishing a bachelor's degree in English Studies?

  1. A degree in English affords a whole range of possibilities. The big appeals of the degree is that it displays an ability to communicate and to read and interpret text. For those who are interested in new media, an English major could be coupled with a major is communications or computer science.

Because the major allows for a huge range of options, it is best for a person be current in trends in communication or media. From there, you could get a job in advertising, media design, newswriting, editing, speech writing...and on.

A degree in English is very useful if you are thinking of law school, a masters in business administration, obtaining a teaching certificate, and of course graduate studies in English (hint, hint).
