  1. 1. Creative writing in general is the genre of English which includes writing short stories, poems, essays, etc.
    2. Creative Writing is a major you can take in college to learn about writing your own pieces, such as short stories, poems, essays, etc.
3.a) What I think the purpose of creative writing(or any art for that matter)is to show a side of people that others don't see. We see a lot of business people and science people, but we rarely see any creative people. Creative writing is also used to enterain reading audiences.
3.b) I believe that creative writing is not only for the audience, but also for the writer. In theory, a writer must like his/her own work if they want others to like it as well. Therefore, both the writer and the audience benefit from this genre of English.
3.c) Creative writing is very important. Most jobs require some type of writing, whether it would be an article for a newspaper or a technical manual for a certain product. I think that it should be mandatory at schools because everyone, and I mean everyone, should learn not only how to write, but how to write properly.

1.creative writing is just a literary work that is written by an individual for no real purpose. Such as a sketch drawn by an artist.

    2. Creative Writing is the same as creative writing with the exeption of the capitalized C and capitalized W.

    3. It allows no ideas to be transmitted to people.
I belive that it is for both the reader and the writer 50/50.
I dont think so because it is a fairly speciallized field.

  3. 1. I'm not sure, but I think it is the broader topic that encompasses all writing that is created.
    2. Again, I'm not sure, but I think it is writing specifically to entertain, possibly inform, but it doesn't fit under technical writing.
3.The main purpose of creative writing, to me anyways, is to share ideas about life. I think everyone has awesomely diverse ideas about every subject so writing is an outlet for those ideas when speaking isn't enough. Creative writing is a more permanent form of speaking.
Creativ writing is mainly for the reader I believe, although you could argue for either case. The writer wants to convey a message and once a reader reads their writing, that goal has been accomplished. Without a reader the joy of writing, to me anyway, is mostly lost. (But without the writer there exists no writing so it's a tough decision.)
I believe it should not be required because I can understand if it isn't for some people. I hated that I was forced to take gym and art classes because I felt incompetent when I couldn't grasp the concepts. I think the people who want to take the course will take it and it should be highly advised, but not required.

  4. "creative writing"; I think that creative writing is writing creativly. Examples of this would be;
    Writing emotions/strong feelings
    Extreme use of imagination
Writing fantasy, or elaborating on reality
what you're writing in "creative writing" could/can be considered unorthodox, its written in you're own style.

"Creative Writing"; I think that Creative Writing is structured, set in a certain topic, based around a titled idea, or an assignment that has to be written in a professional layout.

    1. To express yourself, and idea, emotion, thought, movement, or to convey one of these to your audience, or to be able to visualise your expression for self assertiveness.

    2. I think its for the writer. Writers wouldn't write if they didn't enjoy it, or to get some kind of gratification out of it for themselves. It may be directed to the reader, or seem centered to the reader, but all in all, I think its for the writer.

    3. NATRUALLY! Society couldn't exsist with out art. The End.

  5. 1) I would define "creative writing" as the process of writing a piece of work that displays your opinions or thoughts in one way or another, often from an imaginative or thinking-outside-the box sort of standpoint.

    2) "Creative Writing" is more specifically a course, a guideline or set of guidelines, or tool, by which we discipline our writing.

    3) a: Creative writing is used to provoke thought and promote action.

b: Creative writing can be beneficial for both the writer and the reader, but the writer should primarily be concerned with the desired effect upon the target audience.

c: I think that the arts in general should be mandatory in public education. Creative writing should be included.

  6. creative writing is Creative Writing without the enthusiasm or drive to write. I would view "creative writing" as someone seeing a chore or an obstacle that they want to clear as fast and as painlessly as possible without putting any thought into what they are writing. "Creative Writing" can be seen as the act of writing for pleasure, even if it is a career or requirement. It's the want and need to be producing words without looking at it as a cumbersome task.

The purpose of creative writing, ultimately, is expression. Writing about an event, occurrence, or thought is the most effective way to communicate one's ideas [other than verbally communicating, that is].
Creative writing is for both the reader and the writer. The writing may be a way for the writer to communicate or de-stress. The piece may be calming for the reader because they can understand and relate to what the author is saying.
Creative writing and art should definitely be required in schools because it teaches students how to communicate better with those around them and how to have appeal to many audiences. It is also a way for them to express themselves.

  7. 1. Creative Writing is written work created by one's imagination to convey a certain concept.

    2. Creative Writing is an artistic presentation made for a particular purpose.

    3. a. Purposes may range from a large variety of concepts such as satire, advocating controversial issues etc.
    b. creative writing is written for the reader to grasp what the writer whats the reader to understand
    c. creative writing should be mandatory because it could produce dormant creative talents some people have not yet revealed to themselves and therefore benefit their thinking

  8. Creative writing is writing an author writes for people to read and enjoy.
1.I believe in every person there is a drive to create something. Some people want to discover and create theories, some want to create paintings or act and create characters. People who write creatively just have a drive to tell stories and pass culture and ideas to the next generation.
2.It can be for both writer and reader. Sometimes the writer has a story that just keeps bugging them and they finally decide to stop ignoring it and just write it. Other times the writer thinks of an idea that would be enjoyable to explore but the author wants to explore it along with them.
3.I believe art should be mandatory for students simply because gym is mandatory for all students-even the uncoordinated ones who would probably be healthier if they weren't in gym because they would not live in fear of gym class:).Also, gym is about finding things to keep your body fit for a lifetime. The arts are about keeping your mind fit for a lifetime. They are about exploring what makes us human.

  9. 1. Ahh! creative writing... In a way, creative writing is the process of establishing one's imaginations and then translating it on to paper with a writing utensil.

    2. hmm...I do know something about creating writing, unfortunately I don't know much about Creative Writing. Perhaps it's a course that's offered to college students who are interested in creating writing, that is, writing based on their own imagination.

    3. a. The purpose of creative writing is to show others one's imagination. In a way, it allows the readers to see the world by stepping into their author's shoes. Sometimes it can be very entertaining.

    b. In my opinion, creative writing is beneficial for both the writer or the readers. It allows the writer to capture his/her imaginations, and translate them into words. For the readers, they can try to understand what the author is trying to express, by doing that, hopefully they'll learn something.

    c. Creative writing is very important, however, it shouldn't be made mandatory. Students can be encouraged to join creative writing by their English teachers, but for those who doesn't want to join, it's not part of our job to force them into something that they are not interested in. Even if we did force them into it, chances are, they're not going to enjoy it.
